An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in Indonesia's strikes off West Papua province at 9:02 local time on April 9, 2024，with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 1.85 degrees south latitude and 134.50 degrees east longitude. The average elevation within 5 kilometers of the epicenter was about -222 meters above sea level, and there were no large or medium-sized cities located within 200 kilometers of the epicenter. Up to now, no casualties and property losses have been reported.
