The Tianshan Station for Snow Cover and Avalanche Research was built in 1967, which is the only field observation station in China and Central Asia to conduct long-term snow and avalanche monitoring and professional research. The station has long carried out field climate, snow, frozen soil and avalanche observation, hydrological process and avalanche formation mechanism research, disaster prevention and mitigation technology research and development, integration, demonstration and promotion, cooperation and exchange, personnel training, science education, etc. The station is mainly engaged in snow disaster prevention and management, snow characteristics, snow hydrology and snow disaster response to global climate change and other related issues.
This dataset is a compilation of artificial paper records of the Station from 1967 to 2021.All the records are repaired and bound, and all the data are manually entered. It provides scientific and technological basis for the smooth implementation of regional ecological security and infrastructure construction, and promotes the development of climate change, snow hydrology and water resources and snow disaster science research.
The attribute information of this dataset mainly includes:
(1) Daily average surface soil temperatur of TSSAR from 1967 to 2021; The unit is ℃;
(2) Daily maximum surface soil temperature of TSSAR from 1967 to 2021; The unit is ℃;
(3) Daily maximum surface soil temperature of TSSAR from 1967 to 2021; The unit is ℃;
(4) Daily soil data at different depth of TSSAR from 1967 to 2021 (5cm, 10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 40cm, 80cm, 160cm) from 1967 to 2021; The unit is ℃;
(5) The top depth of the frozen soil of TSSAR from 1967 to 2021; The unit is ℃;
(6) The bottom depth of the frozen soil of TSSAR from 1967 to 2021; The unit is ℃.

The soil temperature was obtained by means of the curved tube Mercury, with an accuracy of 0.1℃. The soil temperature observations included surface soil temperature (0cm), shallow soil temperature (5cm,10cm,15cm, 20cm), and deep soil temperature (40cm, 80cm,160cm). At 2:00, 8:00, 14:00 and 20:00, the data displayed by two thermometers placed in the observation field were observed and the average value was recorded. Frozen soil depth data were obtained by a frozen soil depth measuring instrument with a resolution of 0.1cm.
Sort out, repair and bind the paper records of the site from 1967 to 2021, unify the data attribute information and manually input all data.
(1) First, check the completeness of the observation number and observation time of the data. (2) then judge outliers by numerical diagrams and check and correct them. On the other hand, unify and standardize data formats. (3) Finally, integrate all the data to get a complete, accurate and consistent data set to ensure the accuracy of the data.
